Generative AI can automate manual and repetitive tasks, freeing up human resources for more complex and creative tasks. Understanding how and where generative AI fits into your workflow is key to harnessing its abilities.
One way of doing this is splitting your day-to-day activities down into categories and then looking at AI solutions for each of those groupings. Here are some general examples of what activities can and can’t be performed by AI in various roles.
Administrative tasks: AI can be your personal assistant — scheduling meetings, managing routine emails, organizing your calendar, and reviewing or approving work where you have supervisory responsibilities.
Project planning and management: HR has always been involved in project management. Everyday tools like ChatGPT make it easy to come up with a plan of action – just tell it what you want to do and let it build an action plan that walks you through the steps needed to get the job done.
Data analysis: Generative AI can automate tasks such as interpreting complex data sets, identifying trends, and even predicting future outcomes based on historical data.
Research: If you need information before you get started on a job, language-based AI interfaces such as ChatGPT or KOMO are increasingly proving themselves to be as effective and faster than search engines for gathering sources and summarizing key information.
Writing: AI can assist in drafting research reports by providing structure, suggesting content based on data analysis, and even doing initial drafts that humans can later refine and finalize.

Why Should You Attend
Tools like ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion, and Google Bard have stunned the working world with the power and potential of Generative AI. But what exactly is this new technology and how is it going to impact your work?
Generative AI is a new type of artificial intelligence that leverages machine learning to autonomously create different types of original content, including text, images, and music. It creates this content by using neural networks deep learning algorithms inspired by the human brain to understand and replicate patterns in existing data.
Up to 300 million full-time jobs could be replaced by applications powered by these technologies, according to a recent report by Goldman Sachs. At the same time, hundreds of new categories of jobs could be created, and the overall global productivity could be boosted by around 7% annually over a 10-year period.
The truth, as always, is likely to lie somewhere in between.
The focus of this webinar is on using the tools of generative AI to increase your own productivity and the productivity of others, demonstrating to senior management the value and benefits of the tools.
Topic Background
For centuries, people have worried that new technological advancements would lead to mass automation and job loss. But new technologies also create new jobs, and when they increase worker productivity, they can have a net positive effect on the economy.
Amid a huge amount of hype around generative AI, a new study from researchers at MIT sheds light on the technology’s impact on work, finding that it increased productivity for workers assigned tasks like writing cover letters, delicate emails, and cost-benefit analyses.
In another study conducted by the National Bureau of Economic Research, it was found that customer support agents using a generative pre-trained transformer AI tool saw a nearly 14% increase in their productivity. Working in what is sometimes called the information economy — i.e., any role that involves creating, using, or exchanging information then AI may significantly speed up and enhance your ability to do your job.
This covers a vast range of occupations, industries, enterprises, and skills — from doctors and lawyers who create, process, and share information on medical and legal cases to tradespeople, like carpenters and plumbers, who design and implement solutions to practical problems. It also includes a range of clerical, administrative, and managerial functions such as project management, HR, and finance.
It's time for HR to step up and guide the company into an effective use of AI to improve employee productivity.
