Paid Time Off (PTO) is a popular tool for affording leave to employees. The truth is that PTO does offer some benefits to employers, most of which are focused on ease of application. Most employers fail to realize, however, how PTO can undermine employers’ other policies and procedures and cause significant problems in creating and enforcing a smooth and effective work leave environment.
